Design Brief

The goal of this design project was to create a mobile app passion project. I chose to create an app for the best Mariscos restaurants in San Diego. San Diego being so close to the ocean and Baja California inspired me to find the most authentic local Mexican Seafood restaurants. Through developing different personas, I was able to start creating layouts for the app that would provide the users with a way to locate and learn about Mariscos restaurants. Using various photos of Mexican seafood dishes, I was able to develop a color pallet to carry on throughout the app. Detailed hand sketches were used to create numerous icons and illustrations to develop the look and feel of the mobile app. A map and guide was created demonstrate specific locations of restaurants. Review pages were created to provide more specific details for ratings, price point, reviews, and general information. We took our layouts and imported them into Invison to generate a mobile app mock up. We applied various usable hot spots to allow the user to have the best experience navigating the app.
